Hola, amigos!
Hello, everyone! My name is Rei, I'm 24, and I'm a longtime fan of HA! Helga/Arnold is my OTP (and Helga+Phoebe is my BROTP), but I kinda lowkey ship Helga/Everyone because no matter who you pair her with it's bound to be fascinating.
My favorite episode is probably "Helga on the Couch" (so original, I know) and I am legit salviating at the thought of The Jungle Movie, which cannot come quickly enough.
Um. I occasionally write and (to a lesser extent) draw stuff? I'm hoping to contribute more to the fandom this year.
Anyway--I'm super glad to have discovered this forum and I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone better. Thanks for having me!
(p.s. - i switched my username from 'reikarosen' to, well, this one. sorry 'bout that!)

It's great to have you here! You're behind the Shortaki Week tumblr, right? Such a cool idea!!!

Thank you! I'm glad to be here!
And yeah, haha. My motives were entirely selfish, I promise you.
I'm really looking forward to it. Like, so much. The entries are going to be awesome.
Also, I can't thank you enough for promoting the fest here. I've done what I can to promote where I can, but as I'm not part of any HA! communities and entered the fandom reaaaaally late, I unfortunately don't have much range. So again--thank you!

Oh, thank you! I hope I will, as well!
Also, I love your icon. I always thought Sid was awesome. Weird as heck, but awesome.

Welcome! I've been working on some stuff for Shortaki Week myself.

Thank you!! Did you create Shortaki Week? People are curious (of course) and asking if you did and I'm curious about it as well.

I did. <--ulterior motives up the wazoo.

Thank you! I'm glad to be here!! I joined the HA! fandom when it was no longer active (at least it wasn't on Livejournal--I'm not sure about other fan corners) so I'm stoked to be in the presence of so many awesome fans!
Re: Hola, amigos!
It's actually a bit active on tumblr since most of the DA users moved on to tumblr, but it isn't as active as the bigger fandoms you know.

I only recently discovered that it was active on tumblr and was really surprised about that. It's a small fandom, but considering the series ended in '04 it's pretty amazing that there's as much activity as there is.
Re: Hola, amigos!
Yeah!! I think the fanbase will most likely become bigger once TJM comes out!

Awesome! Had no idea that you were the one behind Shortaki Week lol - what inspired you to create it?

I'm really looking forward to the release of TJM (aren't we all?) and I'm really hoping that your prediction comes true!

An entirely selfish desire to read more fanfiction and view more fanart, to be honest (with the added bonus of meeting more H/A fans).
I've been sitting on the idea for over a year, though. It wasn't until I realized that the fandom wasn't dead--it had just relocated to tumblr--that I decided to give it a shot and see where it goes. #TheGreedIsReal
Re: Hola, amigos!
Yay, I love your stuff! I'm really excited for Shortaki Week and thrilled that you started that! I hope that it continues next year. Perhaps we can add in additional weeks, too, if there's enough interest. Although, of course, this will be the best one.
Re: Hola, amigos!
Aw, that's why your name sounded familiar! Haha! (I'm slow) Nice to see you on here too!
Also I love your comment on your helga/everyone shipping...it's so true...Helga would be amazing with anyone. I honestly have this secret love of Helga/Gerald because I think they are so similar and it would be hilarious to see them together... :-)

Thank you! And oh man, so am I! I'm super excited to see what everyone's created! And yeah, hopefully we'll get a good turnout so we can continue Shortaki Week next year, as well!
Instead of having multiple weeks throughout the year (not that I'd be opposed to that ) I'd really love to have some sort of HA! rarepair week for the pairings that don't get much attention. Or even a general HA! fest week so gen-ish material won't be excluded. D:

Okay, so I guess I'm slow too because I just noticed that you're the same arnolds-love from tumblr (at least I'm assuming you are?). Hello, fellow co-mod! It's nice seeing you here!
And omfg, yes to Helga/Gerald. They both have such strong personalities and it would be utterly fascinating to see how their dynamic would change were they to fall in love (the bickering between the two would be epic). I've been itching to write a Helga/Gerald fic for a while now (maybe with some background Phoebe/Arnold because the thought of them both despairing over the fervid nature of H+G's relationship makes me all tingly inside)
Helga/Brainy is another pairing I've been wanting to write, for some strange reason. Helga/Phoebe, as well, though that's a given. <3

I am HERE for Helga/Gerald. I have a huge soft spot for them thanks in large part to old fanfic. I really like the idea of them forming an unlikely bond after Arnold leaves (abandoning them both). My actual secret ship that I would give my left arm to actually see someone pull off is Helga/Arnold/Gerald.
I can't really get into Phoebe/Arnold at ALL for some reason. They're too similar, but in a boring way?
I'm weird about Helga/Brainy and pretty much only write/draw it as forever unrequited, but I like the idea of her growing close to him unexpectedly.
Helga/Phoebe = A+++

Totally! I was thinking of Non-Canon Pairing Week (well, probably not non-canon because there's really nothing super canon...so, Rare!Pair would definitely be better LOL), HA! Appreciation Week, and maybe a Your Favorite Character Appreciation Week...or Underappreciated Character Week, or something like that.
That kind of gives it one Week a quarter and even kind of challenges people to do things out of the box/they normally wouldn't do. Like an Arnold/Gerald/Helga love!roll.

Yep, the one and the same! :-) Sup, partner? ;-)
Seriously...I've been stewing and contemplating a Helga/Gerald fic for a while now...I'm just chicken because they are both some of the harder characters for me to write...so I'm scared to actually do it! I feel like, as much as I love the a/h fanfics out there, we need a little more variety. I also want to write a Gerald/Phoebe one because I think they get overlooked a lot. So if you write something, share because I would love to read it!!

Ooh I like that idea! That would be a fun theme to do!
PS are you the awesome Marie Allen that reviews "No Competition" and "The Shadow Around His Heart"? And has also watched "The Burbs" and has also just literally sent me a PM through fanfiction? Haha!! Awesomeness! I'm slow and just now putting that together!

OMG that would have been hilarious! And he would have been a "barking rat" chaser who dumps on 'his' lawn... That bear-chasing cat would have had nothing on Rumsfield.
