Order of Hey Arnold! episodes
So I guess this should be a catch-all thread having anything to do with the order of episodes.
Okay so a few thoughts.
1. Has anyone ever put together a list of the episodes in what would be chronological order? Is it even possible to do so?
For instance obviously there would be an order in regards to the Holiday's. And there are other "turning points" like Gerald's voice changing, getting Mr. Simmons as the new teacher, the first time Gerald spends the night, etc. The reason I say "is it even possible" is because of things like Ms. Slovac being in the Valentines day episode, which in regards to school year Valentines Day comes after Thanksgiving. Of course one could simply say that she is subbing for Mr. Simmons while he is out sick or something.
2. Is there a list of the order in which the writers INTENDED to release episodes vs. actual release order? For instance, Phoebe's Little Problem was the last episode aired, but, as we all know, The Journal was the true final episode.
3. This isn't a question so much as a project/goal for myself. I'm thinking about going through, after finishing watching them in production order again, and watching them in order of writer. First, all the ones written primarily by Bartlett, next, all the ones (and movie) written primarily by Steve, and on down the line.

1) No, but that would be amazing.
2) I think the only intended order would be production order. Other than that Hey Arnold! is only vaguely sequential, because - like you said - things like the "Slovac" conundrum.
3) Oooooh that would be NEAT. I've always been curious if you can chart what writer ships what based on eps they worked on. Like the Patty/Harold/Rhonda/Curly square or who implied Gerald/Phoebe vs. who worked some of the later eps that made Gerald into more of a ladies' man.
Actually, for anyone who wants it, I have the production order list. You'll have to hit me up on email at stillshines@yahoo.com for it though, because I'm not about to kill myself trying to format it correctly on the forum....

Oh, where?
Email would probably be best. I got it from a website that no longer exists.

It does look pretty interesting, I think what bothers me about it, is that they are in the 4th grade during the entire show and it goes from 1997 to 1999

I've never really thought of chronology aside from the episodes where the go-kart is mentioned, I think it's Helga Blabs It All -> Chocolate Turtles -> Grand Prix.
That and April Fool's Day being after the movie.

Exactly. I was also bugged by stuff like...a Mrs. Slovak episode after a bunch of Mr. Simmons episodes...seems like a big thing to over look...

My best guess is that the random Miss Slovak episode ("Arnold Saves Sid") in season two is because the episode wasn't finished in time to be aired in Season 1 - a big oversight like this something that doesn't happen often so I'm sure there was a legitimate reason (my best guess is that they might have been having animation issues with the studio and simply ran out of time... this would be great to ask Craig! lol).
There are also a few episodes in season two where Toran voices Arnold instead of Phillip. My best guess is that Toran was able to record a few episodes of season 2 before his voice changed, or that they were recorded for season 1 but didn't make the schedule. Of all the Arnolds, Toran is my favourite so I'm glad they kept him on as Wolfgang eventually. You can definitely pinpoint how early an episode was recorded (versus aired) in season 1 by listening to Toran - he sounds very young in Arnolds Hat and the Cheese festival episodes but much older in Arnold's Christmas, for example. Same for Franny from season 1 to season 2 - watching Arnold's Hat and then Helga's Love Potion back to back one night made the difference sound even more jarring - she sounds SO young in the hat episode! lol

I really think this is a good theory of why Miss Slovak appeared.
I think in Arnold Saves Sid, the voice recordings and the script were already made, but then again they could have been the animation issues that you mentioned, so they had to redo it all, I think it'd be nice to ask Craig though. Also I think the fact that Sid sounds younger, however Arnold's voiced by Phillip, but Sid sounds young, it might just be me mishearing things but if it isn't perhaps Sam's voiceover for the episode was kept while the rest had to be redone, which might prove the animation issues theory.

Phillip did voice Arnold in that episode so it's possible they got the animation back but decided to re-sync the voices with the newer animation (because sometimes the original voice tracks don't always fit with what's done oversesa). If that's the case, Toran's voice broke and he couldn't do Arnold anymore. Or as you said, they kept Sid's voice track and re-did everyone else. I'm sure we could go back and forth all day with theories; only Craig can set the record straight
It was amusing for me to re-watch the whole show recently and in the middle of season 2 BAM MISS SLOVAK after it being made especially clear in New Teacher that she had retired lol.

When my life slows down a bit, I'll start working on lists, but if anyone feels like taking one on feel free.
