Hey guys!  Hope all is going well and everyone is getting their Shortaki Week submissions ready - one week to go!  Don't forget about the Pataki Press as well; Arnold's Love and theArnoldWaltz are gladly waiting for your art and writing!

Anyway, since we all have our love for HA in common... I figured we'd get to know each other a bit more and decided to create this topic for that exact reason.  We're all among friends here, right?

Follow my lead as a template for your post and you're pretty much golden.  Also, other forum members, don't be afraid to ask random questions to see what answers you get - funny or serious, your choice lol.  I wish we had a live chat so we can chat more often so hopefully a topic like this helps everyone break the ice a little bit.

USERNAME MEANING: "Marie Allen" is my pen name that I came up with yeaaaaars and years ago. Marie is my middle name and at the time, my baby brother was obsessed with "Jumanji" and "Jurassic Park", both have "Alan" as the main character. Allen looked more "last name" to me so it stuck. Coincidentally, my fiancé's middle name is Allen with that spelling. Who knew!

Your pets are so adorable - pets are my ideal children because I'm a workaholic and my lifestyle doesn't exactly accommodate a girlfriend or family... Cats are perfect because they live their own lives and aren't needy. I like dogs but with how often I'm not at home... I simply don't have the time to take care of all their needs. LOVE your pups! NorCal is great! Born/raised. But it's suuuuuuper expensive, so we're actually going to move in a couple of years. Which is sad beans because the weather here really is the best. We have a few places on our list to check out, though. And it'll be fun to travel and look for places.

I would just like to say, I LOOOOVE your Screen name...ever since I first saw it I just love it. I don't know why. I just love it!

Haha! dude! I've always had a celebrity crush on him even though he's like way old.  I love his voice so much too, I have like all his albums since the 70s :-)  *sigh* and now he knows I exist and picked me as the winner. *swoon* Haha!

Hey! I lived there for 8 years! Graduated high school up there. So howdy neighbor! I gotta be honest though...that rain really got to me being born in New Mexico. I'm glad to be back in the sun, but I do miss that green!

Cool!! To be honest it isn't that rainy where I live like it's occasional I believe like it's half the spring and sometimes during the summer. It's such a pretty place actually!!! I'm surprised that it's actually been getting warmer, however it is unfortunately climate change I believe. But at least it's fine I guess? Also I actually lived in Washington for most of my life, the first 2 years of my life was set in Oregon. Oh and I live by Portland, Oregon and I've gone there like 1000 times (the zoo over there is pretty nice and Washington Park is gorgeous)!! I was actually really surprised that Portland was one of the inspirations for Hillwood because I would have expected it to be 80% NYC and 20% Seattle. I REALLY WANT TO GO SEE THE LAIKA STUDIO IN HILLSBORO THOUGH

So are you the east side or the south part? I know over by Yakama is pretty dry. I was from the coast right by Canada so it was ALWAYS raining...like ALWAYS...that is NOT an exaggeration. Portland is pretty. I went to a wedding there once.
