Secret Santa Sign Ups and Rules

Making a separate thread so this doesn't all get mixed in with the idea swaps.

So if you want to be involved, you would sign up here using the below form:

Name:

Medium: (whatever media you want to use to create the fandom item - this can be fanart, fanfiction, amvs, whatever but you need to list what you are capable and willing to do)

What I want for Christmas: (try to list a minimum of three ideas and a maximum of five - this gives your santa more options)

Limitations: (if you have a genre, pairing or any story type that for any reason you do not feel comfortable writing/drawing/editing/etc., list it here. You are not required to explain yourself - if it's here, it is to be respected)

Sign ups are open as of now. I will send you a message on Halloween with the person you are assigned to create a gift for. Please do not share the information with anyone (it's part of the fun!)

For your ideas, you can be as vague or as detailed as you want. If you really just want to see say, a Sid story but don't care what he's doing in it just say that in your request. If you want to get more specific, it is totally ok to do that, too. You can specify if you'd prefer fanart or fanfiction but keep in mind that depending on the amount of sign ups it may be harder to ensure you get one or the other.

What I want for Christmas: The story idea of having Sid and Lorenzo switching bodies (kinda like Freaky Friday) that was brought up in The Pataki Press, a fan comic of Sid, Stinky and Harold at Harold's house at night watching "Them!" (pretty much they are watching monster movies, oh and the movie is about giant ants if anyone is wondering) along with Lorenzo, Joey and perhaps Iggy and Nadine(?) (I think they'd all be in their pajamas). Finally I'd like to see Sid (grown up) as apart of a punk rock/hard rock/heavy metal (all three genres pretty much, I guess?) band.

Limitations: Pretty much any NSFW thing you can think of (gore, porn, etc), enough said. I'm not sure about blood though, guts, mutilation, etc (which is what I meant by gore) are obviously BIG NO NO'S but I'm not sure about blood, so I don't know.

Medium: Fanart is my number one, but if we need a fanfic pinch hitter I'm game

What I want for Christmas: Something Rhonda/Harold-y!  

Limitations: Won't do anything Curly/Rhonda.  Also, for this I'm not really interested in doing NSFW, but usually people don't request that sort of thing for secret santas anyway, haha!  Uh, I also do a lot better with broad requests.  The more detailed a request is, the less likely I'm gonna want to do it.

Name: Mony

Medium: Fanart. If there's Arnold/Helga fanart requests let me at 'em, though I am willing to draw other characters too.

What I want for Christmas: Anything cute/fluffy/funny involving Arnold and Helga will make my life. I'd prefer fic but would also love art. As for more specific prompts, maybe something touching on the soulmates running gags in the show. Arnold pining for Helga is always A+. Really loving the Arnold hears beautiful music when he thinks of her idea. Older Arnold and Helga adventuring shenanigans too.

Limitations: I'd also rather not draw NSFW for this. I can't really think of much else, if I do I'll edit and add it in.

ALSO QUESTION, do you guys think it'd be ok to promote this on tumblr? Maybe that way more people know about it and can join in?

Yes you should do that mony (also I was wondering if people can do it on tumblr too)!! Also I have a question about my thing, can I be really detailed on how I want it to be or not or should it be basic with some ideas that could appear in it or that the artist/author can change (I had a problem with the monster movie thing which is why I'm asking this, and i had to edit the post like 5 times because of it)?

Mony: I would say to promote, with the stipulation that people have to be forum members to join! Just to keep it simple on Perhaps tbh. Hosting the exchange in a thread here is a lot easier than searching across different websites to keep track of all applicants!

Jfgoofy: I think you can be as detailed as you want, but understand that being super detailed is sometimes harder on the artist/writer because it's limiting their own creative interpretation. Also, it's a gift exchange, not a paid commission so the thought of the gift is more important than having something done perfectly.

Also, JFgoofy - for "medium" you're supposed to put down what kind of work YOU can do, not what you would like to receive. So if you want to give just fan art or just fanfic or either, that's what you should say there.

Alright thanks!! I fixed it now (like I said this is my first time doing a thing and if there's anything that I need to change in my thing again, I will do it, man that was a lot of edits)!

Exactly this - please do cross promote but they've gotta become a member on here to participate. I don't mind this getting kind of big but I'm going to get annoyed if I have to go across several platforms to message people.

ok I'll make a post on my artblog then, and no ya, I wasn't planning on it being out of the forum, that'd be way too much to handle. If they wanna participate they have to join, which honestly isn't that hard to do so.

I think we have been discussing it and we're still debating.

@turchinorain no, we're keeping it to the forums to make it easier to keep track of everyone. I will be making a post to promote it on tumblr, but if people want to be a part of this they have to make an account here, it'll make it easier on everyone especially on Perhaps.

What they said. Feel free to promote it wherever you'd like, but they gotta sign up for an account here, even if it's strictly for Secret Santa purposes. It's easier if it's all in one place.

What I want for Christmas: I'd love to see some cute Sid/Stinky art with them as teenagers or young adults. Or maybe a short fic of them doing something sweet together for Christmas. I also appreciate Sid and Helga friendship so I wouldn't mind a picture of them being vitriolic buds grumpy about the holiday season or something.
Limitations: Nothing dealing with a focus on food. If anything else comes up I'll edit it in

What I Want For Christmas:
- Literally A N Y T H I N G to do with Simmons/Peter or Pearl (Mr Simmons' mother). - Literally anything to do with Sammy and Alan Redmond. (Episode: Rich Guy)
- Alan (Redmond) and Lila are my OTP, anything with them being cute would be GR8.
- Mr Simmons being a mentor/father figure to Helga. He seems to be the only positive adult male influence in her life and it's really sweet.


Limitations: No gore, no blood, no scat/excrement, no females with unrealistically large breasts, no incest or pedophilia, and no Rhonda/Curly or Arnold/Lila. That's all I can think of right now. ;v; Sexy activities are fine though!

Medium: Fanfic - long or short

What I want for Christmas:  Arnold/Helga pairing fanart (something cute and romantic!), Helga and Arnold re-enacting the famous "King of the World" scene on the ship's bow from Titanic, a confession letter Helga writes to Arnold apologizing for how she's treated him, Rhonda and Harold cuddling in the Tunnel of Love.

Limitations:  I will do fanfic only - I am not a strong artist and I work much better with the written word.  Do not expect to get fanart from me because there are others on here who are so much better lol.  As for limitations for receiving something... nothing too NSFW please.  Be tasteful and playful if it's fanart depicting sex/nudity... but for fanfic go all out if you want (the written word has more of an effect on me anyway lol). No same-sex scenarios please.

Medium: Fanfic! Whatever I write is pretty long so.

What I want for Christmas: Helga/Arnold fanart or fanfic where they are adults preferred, of course, but also Helga/Lila fanart or fanfic. They're my...secret ship...

Limitations: I *can* do NSFW fanfic but it would really have to spark my interest. I am not super into writing anyone from HA as kids, either.

What I want: Anything Arnold/Helga related as Teenagers. I really love that age bracket of 14-25 so anything in there is good for me. I love the give and take between Arnold and Helga of him pining after her while she still deny's his feelings is really fun. Also, if you did fanart of one of my fics, that would pretty much make you top dog and I'd die a very pleasant and satisfied death.

Limitations: I can pretty much do anything, I don't do NSFW on my own time, but I could do that if desired.

Limitations: I won't write dubcon or non con nor will I write scat or waterplay. My NSFW is okay, as long as you're not expecting hard core because I suck at that. My limitations extend to possibly Harlequin books type writing. As for ships; it's your present, I will try to get as close to what you want as I can. My knowledge extends to the main and major side characters, I don't know enough about the minor side character to, I feel, do them or you justice. Other than that. I think I'm open.


Also, Moderators. I'm guessing we're going to get a deadline closer to the end of October, right?

Deadline for sign ups is October 31st - since that's a Monday and I have work let's say that the sign ups will close officially that night at 9 pm central. I will post something on this thread letting everyone know sign ups are closed and then I will message everyone (through the messenger on this board) who they have.
