my only contribution

hello!

i must admit i joined this forum half to meet new people in the fandom and half to get more exposure for my story. i started writing it about two years ago, and have had some small hiatuses during that span.

warning: it's long, and for mature audiences. im an adult that writes adult stories lol

here's the elevator pitch: Arnold finds his family in TJM, and stays with them. 10 years later, he comes back. chaos ensues.

Aaaah I remember seeing this fic before; I think it was recommended on some website (forgot the one, though).  I'll definitely add this to my reading list because it looks really good!

is it rude to bump my thread to promote my story a bit more?

im quite close to finishing it, and thought it would be nice to see some more traffic and what people think

Nah, bumping for the occasional update is fine. As long as you aren't creating a ton of new threads, I don't mind people posting when they add new chapters/fic to existing threads.

All I can say is I'm thoroughly impressed.
It is gorgeous, intelligent, intuitive...
I started reading it yesterday, and I couldn't stop. I think I got maybe two hours of sleep over the last 36 hours.
Please, please finish it. It's beautiful.
It could nearly stand on it's own as a work of prose even without the backdrop of the HA! universe.
I haven't read chapter 18 just yet. I have to stop because my eyes are beginning to cross from the lack of sleep.
Bear with me because I'm almost done gushing.
Have you written anything else?! I'd love to read it if you have.
As presumptuous as this may sound, I feel I have found a kindred spirit if not just a kindred mind in the author of this story.

Don't be discouraged by as you put it by feeling that your "entire fanfic will be invalidated" by TJM. It won't be. As I said, it stands on it's own.

I have no other written works that are in a readable state right now. This is my first story, really, of this size.

How many more chapters do you think it will have?
(I plan on reading chapter 18 tonight.)

I expect it will get to 22 chapters and an epilogue, or maaaaaaybe 23 depending if this little idea I have coalesces into a tangible workable chapter.

This has updated! Chapter 20 went up sometime last week. It is here, and I'm quite proud of it so far.

The final count will be 23 chapters and an epilogue. I had to break chapter 20 into two parts because it was simply too massive.
